Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate knowledge, attitude, and confidence in regards to the performance of nursing students. The participants of this study were 143 nursing students who attend college in the Chungbuk region of South Korea. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson¡¯s correlation coefficient with SPSS 25.0. The mean scores of knowledge, attitude, and confidence in relation to performance of nursing duties concerning patient safety were 7.01 out of 10, 61.44 out of 63, and 38.34 out of 46 respectfully. Knowledge, attitude, and confidence were all positively correlated with a nursing student¡¯s performance with regards to patient safety. The higher the knowledge and the better the attitude, the higher the confidence of the nursing student in their performance. Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to develop various educational programs that can enhance the knowledge and attitude of nursing students in order to improve their self-confidence in performing duties that involve patient safety.
